Coaches Box

In recent months, the national media has focused on the negative, even violent, behavior of players, coaches and parents involved in youth sports. In a proactive effort to counteract this trend of violence, AYSO is initiating a program called Kids Zone. As part of AYSO's education agenda, Kids Zone is a dynamic program targeted to eliminate negative sideline behavior. It is aimed toward producing a thoroughly positive impact on everyone involved in youth soccer. To execute this program, three basic elements are involved:

You can now take your safe haven certification online. Simply click the link below to be taken to the safe haven certification page and follow the instructions there. You will be able to print out your certificate and take it to your division coordinator when you are finished!

COACHING CLINICS

Once again, we will be offering coaching clinics at Benz-Visco Park for all divisions. U-14 and U-19 coaches would attend the U-12 session. There are 2 dates available for each division. National has added a new rule that coaches that make the play-offs must have taken the clinics. We also encourage all coaches to take the clinics for their age group.

Having everyone on the “same page” will make the season go smoothly. Also, all coaches must take the “Safe Haven” class (about 1 ˝ hours). If you took it last year, you do not need to take it again. If you attend the clinic, it will be part of your training.

DIVISION MEETINGS

We will be having division team meetings the first week in August. If you weren’t able to attend the clinic, you will be able to pick up your team list at this time. If you were at the clinic and have already picked up your teams, you do not need to attend this meeting. All meetings will be at the soccer park at 6 p.m.
